The Decision To Invoke Section 106(2) Not Implemented Now

Shimla, 13 January, 2024. The Government of India has taken cognizance of the concerns of truckers regarding provision of 10 years imprisonment and fine u/s 106(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and held detailed discussions with the representatives of All India Motor Transport congress. 
After detailed discussion, it has been decided by the Government of India that these new laws and provisions have not yet come into force. The decision to invoke Section 106(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita regarding 10 years imprisonment and fine will be taken after consultation with the All India Motor Transport Congress. Therefore, H.P. police appeals to all truck/ motor transport unions and all the drivers to return to their respective jobs.
