Start Process For Filling Up Vacant Posts Of AMOs & Yoga Guides

Shimla, 16th January, 2024. AYUSH, Youth Services and Sports Minister, Yadvinder Goma while presiding over the meeting of AYUSH Department here today sought detailed progress of different projects and activities of the department. He said that all the five components of AYUSH viz: Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sowa Rigpa (Knowledge of healing) and Homeopathy should be strengthened and popularized amongst the masses. 
The Minister directed the officers to start the process of filling up the vacant posts of 140 Ayurvedic Medical Officers at the earliest in the interest of people of the State. He also directed for rationalization of Ayurvedic institutions, especially those, where OPD is very less. He said that the construction and up-gradation works of Ayurvedic institutions should be done in a time-bound manner.
Directions were issued for the earliest appointment of Yoga Guides in 740 AYUSH Wellness Centres, 22 Homeopathic Doctors and 25 Lab Technicians. He also directed to upgrade the website of AYUSH department and to start a facebook page of the department so that the development activities being carried out by the department could be publicized in an efficient manner
Goma lauded the efforts of AYUSH Department for running ‘Ashwagandha Campaign’ for promoting cultivation of Ashwagandha in the State despite limited budget and resources. Director AYUSH Vinay Singh gave a detailed presentation about the progress and activities of the department. Additional Director Amit Guleria, Deputy Director Dr. Rajesh Sharma and OSD Dr. Sunit Pathania were present in the meeting among others.
