Prime Minister Narendra Modi Dedicated To The Nation & Laid Foundation Stone Seven Projects Of SJVN
Investment Of 5515 Crores.

SHIMLA/DELHI, 27th February, 2024. In a proud moment for SJVN, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually Dedicated to the Nation four Power Stations of SJVN namely 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh in a ceremony at Adilabad, Telangana today.
Pime Minister also laid the foundation stone of SJVN’s projects viz 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project and 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project in Himachal Pradesh and 70 MW Solar Project in Assam. These hydro and solar power projects will contribute in the nation’s goal of achieving net zero carbon emission economy by 2070.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation, laid foundation stone and inaugurated Power & Infrastructural Projects of more than Rs 56 thousand crores. This historic occasion was graced by Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana A. Revanth Reddy and Union Minister of Culture, Tourism & Development of North Eastern Region, G. Kishan Reddy.
At the ceremony in Telangana, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Geeta Kapur and Director (Finance), SJVN Akhileshwar Singh were also present. In SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla Salil Shamshery, ED (IT&SE), Chandra Shekhar Yadav, ED (HR) and senior officials virtually joined the ceremony.
Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN, Geeta Kapur, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership for uninterrupted, reliable and affordable supply of Power to All. She reaffirmed SJVN’s dedication to realize Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030. Kapur also extended gratitude to the Union Minister of Power & New & Renewable Energy, R.K Singh, Government of India and the State Governments for entrusting SJVN for execution of power projects.
The seven projects, totalling 727 MW in capacity, have investment cost of 5515 crores. They are expected to generate 2255 million units of energy annually and will reduce 20,10,941 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. SJVN, a power sector CPSE, has diversified its business into almost all forms of energy i.e. Hydro, Thermal, Wind, Solar, Power Trading and Power Transmission. The company is marching ahead to achieve the Shared Vision of 25000 MW by 2030 and 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040.
