Intra Circle Roaming Facility During Disaster

Shimla, 05 July, 2024. Disasters may cause enormous loss of life and property. In the aftermath of a disaster, the telecommunication services are required on top priority and play a pivotal role in undertaking rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures.
Nominations for the National Teachers’ Award 2024 are open. The purpose of the National Teachers’ Award is to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students. The last date for receiving online nominations is 15.7.2024
Addl. DG Telecom, HP LSA, Department of Telecommunications informed that Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) may be activated in case of disruption of Telecom Network. The mobile users of one TSP can make call from the network of other TSPs in affected areas. The mobile users may manually select the network from device settings and select the mobile network of any telecom operator from the available network. 
They will latch on the network of other telecom operator whose coverage is available and get the mobile connectivity. DoT had previously activated this ICR facility in Himachal Pradesh for the areas affected by torrential rains.
