ARTRAC CELEBRATES KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS RAJAT JAYANTI MAHOTSAV

Multiple Events Were Organised For The Awareness & Inspiration Of The People

Shimla, 25 July, 2024. Headquarter Army Training Command (Artrac) Shimla celebrated ‘KARGIL VIJAY RAJAT JAYANTI MAHOTSAV’ to commemorate 25 years of the Kargil victory at The Ridge, Shimla on 24-25 July, 2024. The events were formally declared open in a solemn ceremony by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Army Training Command, Shimla . The events included a variety of attractions for the visitors e.g. Stalls displaying Army Weapons & Equipment, ‘KNOW YOUR ARMY’ Exhibition and Motivation & Awareness Stalls. The Military Martial Music enthralled and mesmerised the audience. Video clips on Kargil Vijay Diwas (KVD) and poetry by children kept the audience captivated. Free Medical Camp was also organised by Military Hospital Shimla, wherein more than 200 civilians and Veterans availed the medical checkup facilities.

Nominations for the National Teachers’ Award 2024 are open. The purpose of the National Teachers’ Award is to celebrate the unique contribution of some of the finest teachers in the country and to honor those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students. The last date for receiving online nominations is 15.7.2024

Shiv Pratap Shukla, The Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh, felicitated the participants in another event organised by Artrac to mark the KVD Rajat Jayanti. The event was witnessed by Civil dignitaries, Central & State Government functionaries, Veterans, School and College students, NCC Cadets and the local population. This day reminds us of the sacrifice of our brave soldiers, who fought the battle of Kargil courageously with Pakistan on the subzero heights of Kargil. On this occasion, eight Veer Naris and four Kargil Veterans were also felicitated as a tribute to this momentous victory.
