Institute of Hotel Management, Kufri Celebrates 42nd Foundation Day with Grandeur
Annual Day and Farewell Ceremony Marked by Enthusiasm and Nostalgia

Shimla, 22 March 2025. The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Kufri, Shimla celebrated its 42nd Foundation Day, Annual Day Function, and Farewell Ceremony on 21st and 22nd March 2025 at its campus. The event was inaugurated by the Principal of the Institute, Dr. Mukul Dimri, who conveyed good wishes on behalf of the Honorable Board Chairman and Principal Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Distinguished Guests and Alumni Participation
The celebration was graced by the presence of the founding members of the Institute — Mr. Narinder Singh Bhuie, Mr. Dhyan Chand, and Mr. Umesh Akare — who attended as special guests. Also present were Colonel Deepak Kumar of Dogra Battalion, Mr. Vivek Kumar, General Manager of Radisson Hotel, and Mr. Inder Singh, Pradhan of Kufri Panchayat, along with Mr. Jitender Jagta, Mr. Dinesh Verma, and Mr. Baldev Thakur.
In addition, former employees of the Institute and alumni who are currently serving in renowned hotels and prestigious hospitality institutions across the country were also part of the event. 
Achievements Showcased Through Video Presentation
A highlight of the event was a video presentation by Mrs. Kirti Puri, HOD, showcasing the Institute’s remarkable achievements over its 41-year journey. The presentation reflected the Institute’s growth, contribution to the hospitality sector, and its commitment to excellence.
Honoring Guests and Celebrating Talent
Dr. Mukul Dimri welcomed and honored the distinguished guests, former employees, and alumni by presenting mementoes as a token of appreciation. The event witnessed cultural performances by the students, adding charm and vibrancy to the occasion. The Principal also rewarded students with certificates for their outstanding participation in various activities throughout the year.
Farewell and Felicitations
The ceremony concluded with the selection of Mr. Farewell Siddharth Jaiswal and Miss Farewell Syed Sabistan, acknowledging their contributions and excellence during their tenure at the Institute. The dedication and efforts of all the employees and students contributed to the grand success of the event.
