Inauguration of Art Exhibition by Education Minister Rohit Thakur
The Visual Arts Department showcases an inspiring collection of student and artist works, with Minister appreciating the creative efforts.

Shimla, 24 March 2025. Today, a grand inauguration of the art exhibition was held by the Visual Arts Department. The exhibition was curated by Dr. Sangram Singh, and the chief guest for the ceremony was Education Minister Rohit Thakur Ji. He appreciated the event and shared his thoughts on the importance of art. 
Minister Rohit Thakur Ji mentioned that art is a medium to keep our culture and traditions alive. He admired the paintings and other artworks created by the artists. He also emphasized that such exhibitions provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talents, and it is a beautiful initiative to raise awareness about art in society. 
Dr. Sangram Singh mentioned that several students’ and artists’ works were displayed in this exhibition. Along with him, Visual Arts Department Chairman Him Cheeterjee, Pro VC Rajinder Verma, Chief Warden Roshan Lal Zinta, ICDEOL Director Sanju Karol, General Secretary Yashwant Harta, Dr. Anjna, Dr. Mohinder Thakur, Dr. Vinay, Dr. Shamsher, Dr. Devraj, and Dr. Lekh Raj were present. The objective of the exhibition is to bring various forms of art before the public and encourage emerging artists. Dr. Singh thanked Education Minister Rohit Thakur Ji for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend this event.
Professors, students, and art lovers from the university were present at the exhibition. Everyone appreciated the artworks and praised the artists’ efforts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks. The art exhibition will remain open for a few more days, giving people the chance to witness these beautiful creations.
