NHM HP Represents Team India for WHO SEAR Workshop
Shimla, 15th June, 2023. The Immunization Division of National Health Mission, Himachal Pradesh was selected by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) Government of India to represent the 5 member team of India for the WHO South-East Asia Region (SEAR) Workshop which was organised from 12th June to 15th June, 2023 at New Delhi.
This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Sanjay Awasthi. He said that Himachal Pradesh has implemented and utilized the digital platforms for immunization in a very effective manner. The Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) has been instrumental in vaccine demand generation, forecasting and real-time monitoring of the Vaccines and cold Chain equipments all over the State.
He said that State has been declared the top performer in UWIN (Universal Immunization App) implementation in the Pilot Districts of Solan and Sirmaur. In future, this shall be rolled out across all the districts of the State.
The participating nations in the SEAR workshop include Bangladesh, Bhutan, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste, he added.
Sanjay Awasthi said that the Workshop prepared an action plan for post-Covid catch-up vaccination for all the SEAR countries with special focus on the utilization of digital platforms for vaccine availability and real-time monitoring of the Cold Chain till the last mile.
He said that the implementation of the action plan shall ensure identification of children with Zero Dose who are not immunized or partially immunized. Further, the countries shall plan special campaigns in three phases starting in August till October to achieve better immunization coverage and curtail Vaccine Preventable Disease outbreaks.
