International Youth Day: Himachal’s Lalit Kumar Dogra to Represent India in Russia
Invited to ‘New Generation’ and ‘Discover Your Russia’ Programs in the Tyumen Region

In a proud moment for the nation, youth leader, social worker, and NSS National Award winner Lalit Kumar Dogra from Himachal Pradesh will represent India in Russia on the occasion of International Youth Day. He has been invited as an international delegate to an upcoming international youth conference hosted in Russia’s famous Tyumen Region.
This opportunity comes under an international youth exchange program associated with the BRICS Youth Alliance and Russia’s federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation). Lalit will participate in the ‘New Generation’ delegate program and the ‘Discover Your Russia’ initiative scheduled from August 12 to 18, 2026.
A Journey from Grassroots Volunteering to Global Platforms
Lalit Kumar Dogra began his youth leadership and social service journey through the National Service Scheme (NSS).

National Recognition: For his exemplary contributions to community development, environmental protection, and youth participation, he was honored with the NSS National Award (2019–20).

UN Representation: Prior to this, he represented India at the United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum (UNRBHR) held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

Current Role: He currently serves as a Youth Coordinator in the Urban Youth Unit at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA, New Delhi), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Sharing India’s Youth Empowerment Experience
The 6-day international event in Tyumen will bring together selected youth delegates from various countries. Participants will explore Russian culture, society, and youth-led initiatives while engaging in cross-cultural dialogue and international collaboration.
Lalit will share his extensive experience in youth empowerment, grassroots volunteering, community development, and urban youth participation on this global stage.
