Digital Census 2027: Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Completes ‘Self-Enumeration’, Urges Citizens to Participate

The first phase of the digital census (House Listing) will run from June 16 to July 15, 2026, across Bilaspur and other general areas of Himachal via a mobile app.

SHIMLA / BILASPUR — In a major step toward modernizing demographic data collection, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu formally launched the ‘Self-Enumeration’ drive for the upcoming Digital Census 2027 by filling out his own details online at the official portal today.

Following his successful digital registration, the Chief Minister issued an earnest appeal to the citizens of Bilaspur and the entire state of Himachal Pradesh to actively participate in this nation-building campaign. He urged residents to complete their self-enumeration online before the upcoming deadline of June 15, 2026.


Phase 1 to Launch on June 16 via Mobile App

The state administration is fully geared up for the transition to a complete digital mode. Following the self-enumeration deadline, the official ground-level survey will commence.

  • The Timeline: The first phase of the census—which involves creating a comprehensive house list and numbering—is scheduled to take place from June 16 to July 15, 2026.

  • The Method: Moving away from traditional paperwork, the drive will be executed entirely through a dedicated mobile application. Enumerators will visit households across Bilaspur and other general regions of the state to log verified data digitally in real-time.
