Rampur to Host Mega Sports Event: 1,000 Forest Department Players to Compete from Sept 11
27th Annual State-Level Sports & Duty Meet to take place from September 11 to 13

SHIMLA / RAMPUR-07/08/2026 — Officers and employees of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department—who spend their year protecting forests and managing administrative files—are all set to showcase their athletic talents on the sports field. The department has chosen Rampur to host the 27th State-Level Sports and Duty Meet, scheduled from September 11 to 13, 2026. Around 1,000 players from across the state will participate in this three-day event.
Preparations Reviewed & Key Directives Issued

VC Review by PCCF: Dr. Sanjay Sood, Head of Forest Force (HoFF) and Chief Project Director for the JICA Forestry Project, held a video conference with Chief Conservators of Forests (CCF) and Divisional Forest Officers (DFO) across all forest circles to ensure smooth execution and directed the Rampur organising committee to meticulously plan every detail.

Venues Selected: The matches will be held at Patbangla College Ground, Government Senior Secondary School Ground (Rampur), and Dattanagar Sports Ground.

Event Management: Responsibilities covering accommodation, catering, transport, medical care, venue maintenance, and security have been assigned to key officials. CCF Rampur C.B. Tashildar and DFO Rampur Gurharsh Singh are leading the efforts to make the event a success.
