NEW DELHI. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), functioning under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has officially released its provisional annual data for the financial year 2025-26. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, KVIC has achieved monumental success this year in strengthening the rural economy and generating sustainable self-employment opportunities in remote regions.

While releasing the data, KVIC Chairman Mr. Manoj Kumar highlighted that the commission’s targeted schemes have not only substantially enhanced the income of Khadi artisans but have also introduced complete transparency across operations by integrating modern technology and digital platforms.

Key Highlights & Major Achievements (FY 2025-26):

  • Bumper Increase in Artisans’ Wages: Effective from April 1, 2025, Khadi spinning wages have been increased to ₹15.00 per hank. Concurrently, weaving wages have witnessed a historic 20% hike. This landmark decision has directly benefited over 4.32 lakh spinners and weavers across the nation, elevating their standard of living.

  • Massive Success of the ‘Sweet Revolution’: Under the National Honey Mission, KVIC has distributed a total of 2,46,099 bee-boxes and bee colonies between 2017-18 and 2025-26. This extensive push has resulted in an additional honey production of 24,269 metric tonnes across India.

  • Record Honey Production and Exports: In the financial year 2025-26 alone, the estimated honey production reached 5,512 metric tonnes. Furthermore, honey exports managed by KVIC-linked beekeepers touched an impressive milestone of approximately ₹31 crore.

Strategic Partnership with NSIC to Boost the MSME Ecosystem

To expand the market reach of Khadi and village industry products, KVIC has forged a powerful alliance with the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). Through this partnership, both organizations are leveraging each other’s digital and physical retail platforms to provide global market access to MSME beneficiaries and rural entrepreneurs.

Minimal Expenditure, Maximum Governance

Addressing nationwide events virtually on the occasion of World Bee Day, KVIC Chairman Mr. Manoj Kumar remarked:-

“In alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Digital India’, KVIC has transitioned a majority of its programs and administrative functions to virtual modes. This has not only drastically reduced unnecessary expenditures on fuel and travel but has also seamlessly connected and empowered artisans living in the farthest corners of the country.”
